Autumn is in the air and Shahrour, the black bird, finds a big red juicy apple… but can he eat it?!
This is the first in a three-part series of bird puppet stories inspired by the birds in Horsh Beirut, and by the children’s social dynamics.
There once was a Black Bird called Shahrour
Shahrour loved to hop along the Forest floor
Looking for apples and worms to eat
(whistle)
As the summer breezes turned into fall winds (blow)
And raindrops fell on everyone.
The apple trees bloomed red and green
Ploop ploop
One day as Shahrour hopped along the forest floor
He saw a red big juicy apple
He hopped and he jumped, and he hopped and he jumped
And he stucks his beak inside that red big juicy apple
(stuck wiggle)
Oh no says Shahrour, my beak is stuck
So he wiggled to the right and he wiggles to the left
And he wiggled up up up and he wiggles down down down
And he wiggled all around
Oh no says Shahrour, my beak is stuck
So he wiggled to the right and he wiggled to the left
And he wiggled up up up and he wiggles down down down
And he wiggled all around
Oh no says Shahrour, my beak is stuck
So he wiggled to the right and he wiggled to the left
And he wiggled up up up and down falls the apple on his head
Munch Munch munch munch munch munch munch munch
Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum
And off flew Shahrour happy as can be
(whistle)
The Wind blows and off my story goes…
