Projects are an integral aspect of learning in Horshna. We engage in a multitude of projects throughout the year. Some are short and crafty while others have a growing sense of inquiry to them.
For the past few years, we chose to pursue our oldest children’s (the Hawthorn group) interests and embark on investigations that involve extended and progressive processes.
The in-depth exploration of a topic our children initiate introduces opportunities for them to engage in experiences where they construct their own meaning and understanding of the world around them. It also provides contexts for them to take agency of their own learning and represent it through the creation of personally meaningful artifacts.
